Travel Tips
  • Visa and Passport formalities.
    All visitors to India must be in possession of a valid passport except citizens from Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives. Foreign nationals are advised to carry their passport at all times. Visas can be obtained from the Indian Embassy or High Commission in your home country.

  • Is it necessary to pay Tips?
    It is not compulsion to pay tips for services, its entirely on your discretion and your level of satisfaction.

  • What clothes to carry?
    During winter months (November- February) in the North and the highlands in the South do get cold at night it is advisable to carry woolens, but at all other times light weight cotton is best. Always respect religious shrines and places of worship, some places require visitors to observe a decent dress code and are required to remove their footwear before entering the shrines.

  • Languages
    Hindi is the mother language with other languages, which differ from state to state, however English enjoys associate status but is the most important language for national, political and commercial communication.

  • Currency
    Local currency is Rupees (Rs.) which consists of 100 Paise. The minimum denomination is 25 Paise (in coins only) and goes up to Rs 1000.

  • Permission of Photography.
    Photography may be prohibited in places of military importance, railway stations, bridges, airports , military installations and places which are in the interest of national security.

  • Vaccination before visiting India
    Vaccination certificate is not required for entry into India except the travelers through Yellow fever epidemic countries (Certain African and Latin American Countries) as per the rules of International Health Regulations.

  • Credit Cards
    Large establishments like hotels, shops, airlines, restaurants generally accept Master card, Visa, Diners and American Express credit cards.
